One-Pan Shrimp Spaghetti Primavera Kitchen Recipe

I am very excited to share this recipe today because it is very delicious, it will be ready in less than 15 minutes from start to finish, and you will only use one pan. How amazing is that? Perfect, right? I was invited to try out the new Barilla® Pronto™ and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how easy, quick, and flavorful this One Pan Shrimp Spaghetti turned out.

One-Pan Shrimp Spaghetti Primavera Kitchen Recipe

For this recipe, you use the same pan to cook the pasta and make the entire recipe because this new pasta won’t need any boiling or draining! Isn’t this awesome you don’t need to wait for water to boil and no draining is required? Then you toss all the remaining ingredients and it’s ready to eat. I know it may feel strange not to strain the past, but I promise you it will still have the same great flavor and texture as traditional pasta.

I used the half-cut spaghetti, but Barilla Pronto is available in four delicious shapes (Half-Cut Spaghetti, Penne, Cut Macaroni, and Rotini). So, if you don’t want to make this recipe with spaghetti pasta, you can use a different one. The possibilities to create lots of recipes with this new product line from Barilla are endless since you can customize it with your favorite sauces, seasonings, vegetables, and meat.

One-Pan Shrimp Pasta_-10

Talking about endless possibilities to choose what to make with this Barilla Pronto pasta, I decided to make spaghetti with tomato sauce and shrimp because it is my favorite way to eat spaghetti.

I’ve never thought it would be so simple to make it. I just needed to sauté the onion and add the tomato sauce, pasta, and chicken broth. Then I cooked it until the chicken broth was almost all absorbed by the pasta. I added the shrimp and spinach about 5 minutes before everything was ready since shrimp can’t be cooked for so long. And finally, I added the Parmesan cheese before serving.

This was absolutely delicious. Hope you try this recipe and let me know what you think. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ red onion diced
  • 2 ½ cups homemade tomato sauce
  • 3 cups chicken broth or water
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 box Barilla Pronto Spaghetti
  • 1 pound medium shrimp peeled, and deveined
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Add olive oil in a large skillet over high heat.
  • Add garlic and onion and sauté until onions are golden brown or about 4 minutes.
  • Then, add the tomato sauce, chicken broth, crushed red pepper, salt, and pepper and Barilla Pronto Spaghetti.
  • Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the liquid is almost totally absorbed by the pasta (about 8 minutes or so)
  • Stir in the shrimps and spinach until the shrimps becomes pink and the spinach begins to wilt or about 3 minutes.
  • Top with Parmesan cheese before serving.

Notes

  • Don't walk away from the skillet! Make sure you keep stirring while it simmers so the noodles cook evenly and don't stick.
  • You can purchase peeled and deveined shrimp to save time on prepping.
  • Feel free to use fresh or frozen shrimp! Just make sure you fully thaw the shrimp beforehand.
  • To store: Keep the shrimp and spaghetti in an airtight container for up to 3 to 4 days in the fridge.
  • To reheat: You can reheat the leftovers in the microwave or on the stovetop.
  • To freeze: You can freeze leftovers in a freezer-safe container or bag for up to 3 months.
